Andrea Darweesh serves as executive vice president of human resources for The Weather Company, parent company of The Weather Channel and weather.com, Weather Underground, and WSI and Weather Central. Andrea leads human resources for all of the company’s divisions, which includes development and execution of HR strategy, maximizing organizational performance, and attracting and retaining talent. She is based in Atlanta and reports to Chris Walters, chief operating officer of The Weather Company.
Andrea joined Weather in November 2012 from Nordstrom, where she was vice president of talent management. While there, Andrea was responsible for all aspects of talent management for the retailer’s 200+ stores and 55,000 employees. Prior to that, she was vice president of global talent management for financial service company Equifax in Atlanta, where she led all aspects of talent management and cultural change, while also serving as a core member of the human resources leadership team.
Previously, Andrea served as a consultant to large corporations including The Coca-Cola Company, Dell Corporation and Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a part of her own firm, and she spent several years with Hewitt Associates as a global leadership consultant. She started her career at Bank of America, in roles of increasing responsibility, finishing her tenure as vice president, leadership development.
A Texas native, Andrea earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and political science from Texas Tech and a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University.
